Abstract:

The current research was conducted with the aim of the effect of attachment style on emotion regulation with the mediating role of identity style. The research method was descriptive and structural equation analysis. The statistical population of the research was all second year high school students of Kashan city in the academic year of 1400-1401, of which 500 people were selected by random cluster method. Data were collected based on three questionnaires: Gross & Jan (2003) Emotional Regulation Inventory, Identity Style Scale (6G-ISI) and Collins and Reid (1990) Attachment Style Questionnaire. The data are obtained by structural equation modeling and using Laserl 8.8 and 26 spss software. analyzed. Based on the results, secure attachment style at a significance level of 0.01, avoidant attachment style at a significance level of 0.05, and ambivalent attachment style at a significance level of 0.01 directly predicted emotion regulation. Among the three attachments, secure attachment style predicted emotion regulation at a significant level of 0.01, with the mediation of identity styles. Informational identity style at a significance level of 0.01, confused identity style at a significance level of 0.05 directly predicted emotion regulation. Among the three attachments, only the secure attachment style at a significance level of 0.01 had a significant role in predicting the normative identity style. According to the results of this study, emotion regulation is one of the most important constructs of educational psychology and an important factor in determining mental health and successful performance. It is in education that the factors affecting emotion regulation and its antecedents should be identified. Planning for training and holding educational workshops in this field in schools is suggested for students.

Abstract:

The osmoregulatory system was studied in wild adult and reared juvenile Persian sturgeon, Acipenser persicus. The mean osmolarity in blood serum of specimens from the Caspian Sea, estuary, the Kouraneski pools and the rearing tanks were 305.3±14.3, 308.7±25.8, 265.0±19.1 and 259.3±8.8 mosmol/L, respectively; the mean concentrations of Na+ were 151.2±6.3, 152.2±8.4, 142.5±5.9 and 131.4±4.1meq/L whereas mean concentrations of K+ were 2.7±0.9, 3.6±0.9, 3.1±0.5 and 2.6±0.5meq/L, respectively. The concentrations for Mg++ ion in fish of the same four origins were 1.5±0.2; 1.5±0.3, 0.8±0.2 and 0.7±0.2 meq/L, and those of Ca++ were 2.31±0.51, 2.61±0.51, 1.85±0.58 and 1.46±0.43, respectively. The Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression equation indicated that Mg++(r =0.38) and Na+ (r=0.41) were effective ions for determination of blood serum osmotic pressure in A. persicus in brackish water and freshwater. This study also showed that blood serum osmotic pressure was independent of sex.

Abstract:

Background and objectives: Salinity is one of the abiotic stress factors that causes great damage to the production of agricultural products around the world. Various strategies have been adopted to reduce the negative effect of salinity on plants and to improve the growth and development of plants under salinity stress conditions. In the present study, the effect of silicon foliar application on decreasing the effects of salinity stress and its related physiological mechanisms in hot pepper plants has been investigated. Materials and methods: The research was conducted as a factorial experiment based on completely randomized design with three replications in the greenhouse of Ilam University. The treatments tested in this research included three levels of salinity stress (control, 75 and 150 mM NaCl) and four levels of silicon (control, 0.5, 1 and 2 mM). In the stage of four expanded leaves, silicon treatment was applied as a foliar spray in the mentioned concentrations until the surface of the leaves was completely wet, and it was repeated two more times after one month. Salinity treatment was done by preparing NaCl solution and i the plants with fertilizer solution every three days. The treatments were continued until fruiting and complete fruit harvesting. Results: In the final results obtained from this research, it was found that salinity caused a significant decrease in growth and performance parameters (root and shoot dry weight, plant height, number of fruits per plant and crop yield) as well as a decrease in relative water content and chlorophyll and caused increase in the content of proline, malondialdehyde and ion leakage in pepper plants. The results showed that the application of silicon reduced the effects of salinity stress on pepper plants. The highest total yield was obtained in 1 and 2 mM silicon application under non-saline irrigation. At all salinity levels, the application of silicon increased the growth and yield of pepper plants. These results were related to the increase in relative water content and chlorophyll, and decreases in proline, malondialdehyde accumulaion and electrolyte leakage. Conclusion: In general, the results of this research indicated that the application of silicon, especially in concentrations of 1 and 2 mM, improved the growth and performance of hot pepper plants under stress and non-stress conditions. The exogenous application of silicon alleviated the negative effects of salinity on the plant by increasing the amount of chlorophyll and relative water content and decrease proline and malondialdehyde. Although the application of silicon in non-saline conditions had positive effects on plant growth and performance, it was more effective in saline conditions. Therefore, silicon foliar spraying is recommended to decrease the effects of salinity on the growth and performance of hot pepper plants.

Abstract:

The present paper investigated the effectiveness of concept mapping as a learning strategy on EFL students’ self-regulation (metacognitive self-regulation, time and study environment, effort regulation, peer learning, and help seeking). Sixty university students participated in the study. They were randomly assigned to control and experimental groups, each including thirty students. They were at the intermediate level of English proficiency and studying English either Translation or Literature. Their language proficiency was determined by the Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency (MTELP) (Corrigan, 1979). The instrument to collect data on the students’ selfregulation was the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ) (Printrich et al., 1991). The findings revealed that students gained higher self-regulation in writing tasks as the result of the explicit instruction of the concept mapping strategy. The findings have implications for pedagogy as well as for research.

Abstract:

Fennel is a medicinal plant; all of its parts were being used by humans in different ways. This plant is relatively sensitive to salinity. A factorial experiment as a randomized complete block design with three replications at the greenhouse level was executed to investigate the effect of vermicompost on the increase of salinity tolerance in four fennel populations (Mashhad, Urmia, Shiraz, and Bushehr) in the vegetative stage of the plant, emphasizing the evaluation of some osmotic and antioxidant protection indicators. Experimental treatments were designed with four levels of salinity (0, 40, 80, and 120 mM of NaCl) and two levels of vermicompost (0 and 5% v/v). After harvesting, the roots were separated from the stem to analyze the biochemical variables. Salt stress caused a decrease in the total soluble sugar and starch content in the shoot and an increase of those in the root of the studied populations. In addition, under stress conditions, the proline content of shoot and root, total free amino acid, total phenol, and activity of guaiacol peroxidase and catalase were increased in fennel populations, while total soluble protein and anthocyanin content were decreased. Vermicompost treatment increased the content of soluble carbohydrates, soluble protein, free amino acids, proline, total phenol, and anthocyanin, and decreased the activity of guaiacol peroxidase in the shoot, as well as the starch content in the roots of fennel populations under non-stressed and stressed conditions. Despite observing the complexity in the changes of the analyzed indicators which were dependent on the type of population and the dose of stress, our results showed that the application of vermicompost with a concentration of 5% can improve the osmotic and antioxidant protection in the studied populations of fennel under salinity stress.

Abstract:

In order to study the mechanism of drought tolerance and expression of the genes involved in osmotic regulation in wheat, a factorial experiment based on a randomized design with three replication, in two condition of non-stress and without drought stress were carried out. Three Diploid species, two kind of Tetraplepoloid and two kind of Hexaploid in the greenhouse of university Zabol, were examined in a pot. The evaluated physiological traits were included Proline, Glycine betaine, total Soluble Carbohydrate, total Protein, RWC (relative humidity). Also, the pattern of gene relative expression of Prolin (P5CS) and Glycinebetaine (BADH) expression was measured using Real Time PCR. Drought stress increased total Protein, total Soluble Carbohydrate, Proline, Glycinebetaine and significantly reduced relative water content, and drought stress induced expression of P5CS and BADH in all cultivars. Therefore, osmotic regulation and expression of two P5CS and BADH expressions under stress conditions can be used as an indicator in breeding programs to select drought tolerant cultivars.
